Blue and White

This is a beautiful line of fabric
that I love right now.
It seems like Laura and Polly really excel in designing
 blue and cream
along with red
 and sometimes
even a little bit of yellow
for a nice
surprise!

(all photos by Brent Kane)

I couldn't help but buy their new book

It's a beautiful book...
the pages are filled with rooms filled
with quilts and rugs
that you will drool over!

and as relaxing as the book is to flip through...

it is filled with sweet
inspiration!

Not to mention,
rooms you want to move
into...

maybe even just for a weekend?!

I hope you look for a copy for yourself.

It's their best book yet!

These two quilts
are particular
favorites of mine.

I think this is the best version of a log cabin quilt that
I have ever seen.

These two women have been a huge influence
in my quilting life.
Martingale Publishing did a wonderful job
putting this publication together to showcase their talent!

Sunkissed Picnic Petals!

My LAQ shared a photo of my quilt, Picnic Petals,
 that she just finished!
Next weekend is our guild's quilt show... so this one will be entered!
I am so excited with her quilting.
I just told her to do whatever she wanted to do.
I can't wait to get the binding on it... and a sleeve.

I am playing with another project.

Remember last week or so, when
I went pattern shopping... and all of them fit perfectly?!

Well, here is my start on one of the Pattern Basket's patterns!
This one is Sunkissed.

This is such a fun block for scraps and
it's completely stress free...
I like that kind of sewing!

Would You Like Some Peppermint Bark?

Good morning!

Fat Quarter Shop has a fun way to start the week!

This is a new pattern that you can download called

The first thing that comes to mind with the name of peppermint bark is
the Christmas holidays...
but although the pattern looks great in traditional and non-traditional
holiday fabrics... they asked a few bloggers to put their spin on the pattern!

So of course, I thought I would use soft Spring colors...
no surprise there, right?

What I really love about the pattern is the cross center...
and then the bonus of the pinwheel within the cross.

It also has at swoony looking star... so those elements combined
made for a super fun, super-sized block!

(but not too big)

I added a bicycle border to add to that
"perfect day for a picnic" or "let's go fly a kite" look!

I think it will make a nice wall hanging or patio table table cloth!

And with all the fun new Christmas fabric starting to arrive in the stores...

I am sure to find something fun and make a larger size
quilt for fall or next winter!

Couldn't you just see this made up in Fig Tree fabrics???
Be sure to take a look at the You Tube video
on the Fat Quarter Shop link and also get a copy of the
pattern!!!
Happy Monday!
Enjoy the rest of the blog hop...

and I wasn't kidding...
